My name's Chris and I'm a designer for Childrenswear.

I've been with George since 2006 now and in that time I've been involved in a number of very exciting projects including one specifically for Wal*Mart, US.

I head up a small, hardworking team of designers. On a typical day we will be working on putting mood boards together for the next season's styles to debate with buyers, and of course working on garment design packs to send to our suppliers.

My real pleasure comes from the way I can combine creativity with real commercial awareness. The sheer speed that we produce lines makes it a very exciting place to work too. The period between coming up with the designs and seeing them on the racks in store is far faster than anywhere else I've experienced.

It's a demanding role, but very satisfying too. You need to be a good team player, but have your own very individual vision as well. These are two very different disciplines, so the skill is getting them to work together.
