So what does a global fashion brand look for in its people? And how do you know if fashion retail is for you? Well don't worry, we offer a highly diverse range of roles for people with different skills, so there's bound to be one for you.
However, we do all share a common goal of providing quality clothing at great value to millions of George customers, as well as:
- A real passion for our work
- Commercial awareness
- Desire to keep on learning
- Good self-awareness
- A strong customer focus.
Design
Our Design teams create, develop and deliver product ranges that
meet current trends and customer needs. It all starts with
researching fabric, colour and trend. We pick up influences
everywhere from trade shows to the catwalk and from the club scene
to city streets worldwide.
Working closely with our Buyers and Technologists, our Garment Designers take this inspiration to create the season's range of styles, putting design packs together using CAD to send to our suppliers to create the sample garments.
Our Graphic Designers follow the same principles to produce Graphics or Prints that will appear on our garments. The mix of skills you need include:
- Fashion Design Degree or Graphic related Design Degree
- Some knowledge of CAD software packages
- Creative skills and flair for trend
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Organisational and time management skills
- PC Skills
- Working at pace
- Energy, enthusiasm and a passion for fashion
- Teamwork.
