So what does a global fashion brand look for in its people? And how do you know if fashion retail is for you? Well don't worry, we offer a highly diverse range of roles for people with different skills, so there's bound to be one for you.
However, we do all share a common goal of providing quality clothing at great value to millions of George customers, as well as:
- A real passion for our work
- Commercial awareness
- Desire to keep on learning
- Good self-awareness
- A strong customer focus.
Garment Technology
We have two types of role within our Quality team, one focussing on garment makeup and fit, the other on fabric construction and quality. We also have a business input by advising buyers on how production techniques can maximise quality and minimise costs. The mix of skills you need include:
- Knowledge of garment construction
- Knowledge of product engineering
- Proactive and innovative forward thinker
- A commercial eye for fashion
- Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Analytical skills
- Numerical skills
- Organisational and administration skills
- An understanding of the customer
- Planning skills
- PC Skills
- Ability to work at pace
- Teamwork.
