It starts with us giving you the best possible welcome at George so that you feel part of the team even before you start your job! Our award-winning induction programme - appropriately called 'Best Welcome' - will take you on a tour of George House and introduce you to some of the George team. Through that first week you'll gain a full insight into our business, our culture and our way of working. You'll meet more people and understand how the different teams work at George. You'll also be welcomed into the wider Asda/Walmart family when you attend your 'Best Welcome' at Asda House in Leeds.

We have a mixture of technical and behavioural development at George through our Technical and Leadership Academies. There are also a number of other development tools that we use including off the job activities, external training, development breakfasts with inspiring speakers and mentoring as we appreciate everyone has their own way of learning! But it's not just about off the job development at George; we have a fantastic culture of 'learning on the job' which means your line manager and team will give you responsibility and the support you need from the start.
