How, where, when and why?

The Retail Team has to spin many plates at once, and we act as the voice of our store colleagues within George Home office. From working out how and where product ranges should be displayed in store to ensuring our customers have a great experience. When planning ranges, they work closely with the Buying and Merchandising teams prior to selection and agree how much space each range should have in store. Then the buyers use this information to plan their ranges.

We have to consider our customer shopping experience and create visual impact in store, but at the same time we need to make it really easy for the store colleagues to implement as well. We create visual merchandising briefs which contain information such as the shop floor flow, the footage breakdown, photos of how each bay should be laid out in store, and product information and launch dates for the store colleagues.

Retail Operational processes are also part of our remit - making life simpler for our store colleagues to maximise the time they spend on the shop floor serving our customers.

Communication is everything, from daily actions to quarterly planning; we make sure that stores have all the key information to enable our colleagues to deliver for our customers.

We constantly review our ways of working to improve service and standards, from developing a new training procedure to the development of new pieces of store equipment. Everything we do, we work hand in hand with our Asda Head Office Colleagues to make sure our operational processes and activities are consistent across the wider store operation.
