Taking ownership of every aspect of your George, your strength of personality will ensure your department reflects your individuality. Not afraid to make key decisions to ensure you deliver excellent retail standards, you'll enjoy the autonomy to maximise sales and run your department as if it was your own business.
Stepping up to the challenge of working in an Asda Living store for a Store Manager or in an Asda store for a General Store Manager who have a big remit of responsibility, you'll need to be resilient, self-sufficient and able to think for yourself. Identifying new opportunities and reacting quickly to customer needs, you'll recruit, coach and lead your team, and take responsibility for everything from profits and sales to waste and wages. Making key decisions every day to grow a department that's a great place to shop and work, your General Store Manager and Regional George Manager will trust you to deliver. They will support you, whenever you need it, and always be there so you can bounce ideas, give feedback and share best practice.
At George you don't have to ask permission to think for yourself. Nobody will know your store, team or customers better than you. So, when it comes to merchandising, managing colleague rotas and meeting the needs of your customers - it will be your call. You won't be afraid to make commercial decisions, flex your department or do things differently to maximise sales. If sales are slow, you'll get things moving. You'll hold events such as fashion shows and change your displays to suit the weather. Stores situated close to music festivals have wisely stocked up with wellies and kagools. Whilst managers at Asda Living know that their department is a key driver of footfall, so they've created holiday shops using products from different departments.
