town and country

Located 30 minutes from Leicester, 40 minutes from Nottingham and 50 minutes from Birmingham you're never far from city life. It is within easy reach of the M6 and also the M1, so that you can be in London in less than two hours.

Living in the area also means that you can enjoy all the pleasures of the countryside. Imagine driving to work through beautiful rural Leicestershire instead of a commute in crawling traffic or on board an overcrowded tube train.

leisure time

In fact one of the main benefits of the area is just how much uncrowded open space there is. There are countless country parks and places to walk, quiet country pubs and quaint villages to explore. For example, Watermead Country Park, just five miles from Leicester, is a tranquil nature reserve set around 12 different lakes and is perfect for cycling, picnics and even sailing.

Lutterworth

Lutterworth is a thriving small market town with lots of shops, cafes and amenities within close walking distance. Lutterworth is an ideal place to visit in your lunch hour allowing you to do all those little jobs or grab a bite to eat with your team.

sports

Sporting highlights of Leicester include football, cricket and one of the country's biggest Rugby Union teams, Leicester Tigers. Premiership football is only a short drive away in Birmingham and there's Test Match cricket in Edgbaston.

living in Leicestershire

A key consideration in relocating to a new area is the quality and the cost of housing - and these are both great benefits which Leicestershire can offer, whether you're trying to get on to the property ladder for the first time or looking to move up to a larger property.

While £75,000 (www.rightmove.co.uk, 4th July 2008) wouldn't get you very far in the South East, it could buy you a three-bedroom house in this area. There's also a vibrant rental sector offering everything from canal-side pied-à-terres to larger family homes in quiet locations with large gardens.

If you'd like to live in Leicester itself, its regeneration programme even includes a wide number of exciting and innovative new housing projects from award-winning architects.

Over £3 billion worth of investment is being made in Leicester city over the next five years including a £350 million programme of improvements to Highcross Leicester Shopping Centre, which includes a flagship John Lewis store. There's also a state of the art theatre, The Curve, designed by world renowned architect Rafael Viñoly based in the heart of the new Cultural Quarter.

schools and education

For families with children there are a wide range of first class schools, including the excellent Loughborough Grammar School and Lutterworth High School - which received a highly complimentary Ofsted report from its most recent inspection. De Montfort and Nottingham Trent Universities are also within very easy reach. Both have very good reputations for their fashion-related short courses, which could offer an ideal opportunity to add to your professional qualifications.

holiday time

When holiday time comes around you'll be really grateful for the many airports within easy reach including, East Midlands, Birmingham, Coventry and Luton. There is also a Eurostar link directly from Leicester to Bruges or Paris if you'd prefer to let the train take the strain of getting you to the Continent in just four and a half hours!
