Huddles are our way of keeping us all informed about how the business is performing. It's how we outline and communicate our key activities, and helps us all to remain focused on the same goal. It also gives us a chance to acknowledge and celebrate team and individual successes.
It's not just our store colleagues who wear name badges - we all do, wherever we work. This includes everyone from all the colleagues at George House, the George Head Office, to our General Store Managers and Company Directors. We think it helps to make everyone that bit more approachable when we're all on first-name terms.
We think jackets are a barrier to approachability. So when you join George you can also look forward to saving on those dry cleaning bills!
Sounds mysterious, but it's really very simple. If someone's within 10 feet of you, either a colleague, customer or a supplier, we believe you should always say "hello" to them. It just takes a second but it builds a real atmosphere of friendliness, warmth and respect.
Saying thank you and well done may seem like small things, but they mean a lot when it happens to you.
