training - George store colleagues

Whether you are a George departmental manager or a shopfloor colleague, you will receive all of the training you need to deliver a great job and to help progress your career. Store training is delivered for all colleagues across the total ASDA store.

induction

We want to give you the very best start in your career at ASDA and so all our colleagues will experience an intensive induction. Our award winning Best Welcome induction event is the best way to get you up to speed with our business and find your feet as quickly as possible.

We think there's nothing better than getting stuck in straight away so all of our new Store Colleagues will receive on the job training supported by a training buddy. Your buddy will be there to guide you through the training plan. At the end of it you'll have all the knowledge and skills you need to deliver great service to our customers.

We want to make sure we give you all the support you need to be a great manager at ASDA and that's why all new managers to our stores will receive dedicated training in one of our training stores, we call them Stores of Learning. Your training will be individually tailored to your needs and will include lots of shopfloor activity balanced with some classroom style learning. Find out more about being a George Manager.

stepping stones - developing world class managers

This is a seven step practical development program that helps our colleagues to take their development to the next level. The program builds on current leadership and shop keeping skills through off the job learning, on the job activities and coaching sessions. Stepping Stones is targeted at colleagues who want to grow to become Department Managers and some have even continued their development to General Store Manager and beyond!
